Black Lime Powder

  • This dried lime powder is also known as Loomi and Persian Lime Powder.
    Other Common Names: Dried Lemons, Dried Limes, Loomi, Oman Lemons, Persian Limes. Botanical Name: (Citrus aurantifolia)
    Description & Use: Dried limes are actually light-tan to dark brown in colour and have the most wonderful citrus-like fermented flavour, which compliments fish and chicken dishes. This powder is very easy to use and adds an authentic taste to Middle Eastern dishes.

Amok Spice Mix

  • Makes delicious Cambodian curries and is excellent for making a traditional Amok Fish Curry.
    Description & Use: A classic Cambodian-style seasoning for fish, prawns, chicken or vegetables. Traditionally cooked in individual banana leaf portions, however Amok may be cooked in a wok for convenience.
    Contains: chilli, turmeric (Madras & Alleppey), garlic, ginger, paprika, cumin, coriander seed, galangal, makrut (kaffir) lime leaf, kenchur, black pepper, lemon myrtle leaf

    Description & Use: This exotic blend of aromatic spices compliments seafood & chicken when sprinkled on as a dry marinade before pan-frying, grilling or barbecuing. It is particularly delicious when used in fish casseroles with tomatoes, fresh dill and coriander leaves.

Vegetable Curry

  • A mild yet tasty curry blend developed specially for vegetable and fish curry.
    Description & Use: Herbie developed this special vegetable curry for vegetarians, vegans and non-vegetarians, who wanted to be able to have a full-flavoured curry without any chilli heat. The Fennel Seed, Ajowan Seed and Asafoetida help to counteract the ‘wind-producing’ effects of diets high in legumes and garden vegetables. This very tasty, yet mild curry is also ideal with seafood. To make a quick fish curry, coat cubes of firm-fleshed fish with Herbie’s Spices Vegetable Curry. Stir-fry in a wok with a little oil, when the fish is cooked, de-glaze the wok with a few tablespoons of coconut milk and serve on rice.
